The Ministry of Health and Social Welfare informs that there is no reduction in the number of doctors in health centers or hospitals in the country. The recently undertaken changes do not affect medical staff or the provision of services to citizens, but are related to an administrative reorganization aimed at strengthening family medicine and increasing the quality of service.
Regarding the organization of the Family Medicine Center (former Health Center No. 10), the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs announces that specialist doctors will continue to practice in the same facilities and will serve the same population, only administratively becoming subordinate to the Health Center of Specialties No. 1, Tirana.
For citizens, neither the place where they receive the service nor the doctor who attends them changes. The administrative reorganization aims at more efficient coordination of services and improvement of healthcare.
The center also operates in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Health and Social Protection and the University of Medicine of Tirana, serving as a basis for the practical training of doctors specializing in family medicine.
The Ministry of Health and Social Affairs reiterates that any information that speaks of the dismissal or reduction of doctors is false. This reorganization does not affect citizens' access to health services and guarantees the continuity of care provision by the same doctors, in the same facilities.
