The General Prosecutor's Office today conveyed to the Albanian Parliament its official position regarding the draft law on magistrates' salaries.
In the letter to the Assembly, the Prosecution states that, in the absence of a formal draft officially sent for consultation, the assessment was made based on the content of the draft law published in July 2026 on the official website of the Assembly, as well as on the public discussions held.

The General Prosecutor's Office today conveyed, through an official letter, to the Parliament of the Republic of Albania its position on the draft law on magistrates' salaries.
"In the absence of a formal draft officially forwarded for consultation, based on the content of the draft law published in July 2026 on the official website of the Parliament, as well as on the public discussions held, we assess that the draft law 'On some additions and amendments to Law No. 96/2016 'On the status of judges and prosecutors in the Republic of Albania'', in principle does not guarantee the full and effective implementation of Decision No. 15, dated 17/02/2026 of the Constitutional Court and the constitutional standards set forth therein.
"This draft law creates unjustified and inharmonious differences between different levels of courts and prosecutors' offices."
