Three professional divers from Finland (pictured) continued today the operation to recover the bodies of the Italian divers who lost their lives in the "Shark Pit" in the Maldives.

The bodies were located in the third segment of the pit, at a depth of about 60 meters.

Today, it was possible to extract two of the bodies, who have been successfully pulled to safer areas, where they will then be retrieved by Maldivian military divers.

The other two bodies are expected to be recovered tomorrow, according to the operation plan.

The operation is being carried out in several stages due to the depth and difficult conditions.

The three Finnish divers, specialized in diving to depths of up to 100 meters, are using assistive devices such as underwater "scooters" to facilitate movement and avoid fatigue during the operation.

The international operation was strengthened after a Maldivian military diver lost his life during the search, making the intervention even more careful and coordinated.

Authorities in the Maldives are still investigating the circumstances of the incident, including suspicions that some of the divers may have been beyond the permitted recreational diving limit of 30 meters and whether all had the proper authorizations for that depth.
