The Secretary General of the Freedom Party, Tedi Blushi, held a meeting with women and girls on March 8. During his speech, Blushi stated that women are the main pillar of the family and a role model. He also accused the majority of making an unprecedented attack on the image of women.
Blushi further added that the law approved by the socialist majority threatens the family and the role of women in society.
Meanwhile, the vice-president of this political force, Erisa Xhixho, denounced the case of MP Albana Vokshi in Parliament.
Full word:
Dear ladies and gentlemen,
Honorable members of the Freedom Party Women's Forum,
On this special day, on the eve of March 7–8, I have the pleasure and honor to greet you and express my deepest gratitude for your extraordinary role in the family, in society, and in the public life of the country.
March 8 is not just a symbolic day to give flowers or exchange greetings. It is a day of reflection on the sacrifices, efforts and contributions of Albanian women, who in every period have been the pillar of the family and the greatest strength of our society. The Albanian woman has always been a symbol of dignity, dedication and endurance.
But unfortunately, today in Albania, women and girls not only face the economic and social difficulties that this government has created. They also face an arrogant and contemptuous climate in politics, which is often openly displayed in the country's highest institutions.
An unacceptable and condemnable example was the verbal attack made in the Parliament against the MP Albana Vokshi by Taulant Balla. Such language, such arrogance and such a lack of respect towards a woman and a member of the Albanian Parliament clearly shows how little this government respects the dignity of Albanian women and girls. When an elected representative of the people is treated with insults and arrogance in the Parliament, imagine what message it gives to women and girls throughout society.
The Freedom Party believes that respect for women is not a slogan or propaganda. Respect for women begins with the family, with values, with education, and with policies that protect their role in society.
It is precisely for this reason that we have opposed and will continue to oppose laws and initiatives that, in the name of a distorted gender equality, risk violating the fundamental values of the Albanian family. Albania needs policies that empower women, that support them as mothers, as professionals, as active citizens, but without destroying the identity and values on which our society is built.
We believe in a society where women and men have equal rights, but also mutual respect, where women are not used as political decorum, but are valued for their contribution and integrity.
We have excellent and inspiring role models of women and girls in the Women's Movement for Integration, who are not only our asset but also an asset for the future of Albania.
We have excellent role models of well-educated girls who fight for women's rights, for the empowerment of the family, and are constantly in collaboration with civil society, listening to women and girls, and taking initiatives to reflect and protect their interests.
We as a political force are proud that today, faced with an unacceptable model like the former Deputy Prime Minister in the government, we have excellent models in our Party, we have Vice President Erisa Xhixho, we have the Chairwoman of the Women's Forum, Ms. Myrvete Asqeri, we have the Secretary for Public Relations Arla Merja, we have the Chairwoman of the Youth Forum Anisa Ibraj, Mrs. Miranda, a tireless activist and former mayor, ubiquitous in every protest and a powerful voice in defense of the role of women, we have the Chairwoman of the Health Committee Ms. Florida Ymeri, we have Silvana Bajrami, the Chairwoman of the Agriculture Committee, and many honorable ladies and women, who are excellent models, are an asset not only for our party, but are an asset and value for all of Albania.
SUPPORT FOR WOMEN AND YOUNG FAMILIES
Supporting women and families is a major cause of the Freedom Party and our governing program and platform, 5 priorities for 4 million plus Albanians.
Economic and Social Empowerment of Women through the "education for employment" program, so that women are economically empowered, especially women and girls who belong to the most needy sections of the population.
"Strategy for Entrepreneurial Women", a package of financial and fiscal stimulus measures for education, qualification, training, development and promotion of private initiative for girls and women.
Intensification of the fight against violence against women and girls, mainly violence in the family, in the public environment and in the workplace.
Supporting women heads of families with more social policies, avoiding bureaucratic obstacles in their social support, as well as making them part of economic empowerment programs.
Supporting young families with various financial mechanisms such as soft loans (and other mechanisms) for housing.
Progressive increase in payments for the second and third child.
Guaranteeing access and empowering women and girls to participate in all decision-making processes, at central and local levels.
The five priorities of the Freedom Party for 4 million plus Albanians are the "medicine" that stops depopulation, protects the Family and the Nation!
Dear ladies,
Your role in the Freedom Party is irreplaceable. You are the voice of many Albanian women who seek dignity, justice, economic security, and a better future for their families.
You have proven that you are a nuclear power and I am convinced that through the unification, expansion and unstoppable opening of the Women's Forum, your voice and that of all Albanian women will be heard even louder.
On this March 7–8, I wish you from the bottom of my heart health, strength, and success in all your endeavors. Let us continue together the battle for a fairer Albania, where women are respected, valued, and have the place they deserve in society.
Happy March 7–8!
