The UN Security Council has called an emergency meeting following US and Israeli attacks on Iran and retaliatory strikes by Tehran.
The extraordinary session was requested by the permanent missions of France, Bahrain, China, Russia and Colombia, according to a statement from Russia's permanent mission to the UN.
The session, which is expected to address "the situation in the Middle East," the UN said.
