The Berat Regional Hospital is undergoing a reconstruction phase of several services in the operating block with the aim of improving conditions and providing better quality services to citizens. In parallel, the staff continues to guarantee uninterrupted care in all medical services and laboratory examinations, professionally coping with the influx of patients.

During the inspection of this hospital, the Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Evis Sala, also stopped at the examination laboratory where she assessed the uninterrupted guarantee of diagnostic services.

In a conversation with laboratory doctors, Minister Sala said that the increase in cases, especially of chronic diseases, has led to a greater volume of tests, which often exceeds planned capacities. However, she emphasized that laboratory examinations are provided every day and without interruption, with priority for urgent cases.

Focusing on laboratory examinations, Minister Sala emphasized that work is being done to expand the range of analyses, in collaboration with specialist doctors and experts, based on the data collected. This expansion also includes molecular indicators, which play a key role in the development and application of innovative therapies.

Investments in infrastructure and strengthening services reflect Albania's commitment to a European healthcare system, where quality, access, and equal treatment for every citizen are harmonized with EU standards.
