A 21-year-old woman has reported a case of sexual harassment at the Korça hospital. As a result, surgeon N. Nunka was arrested and suspended from duty yesterday.
On the show "With an Open Heart" by author and moderator Evis Ahmeti, the young woman's grandmother recounted the moments of how the incident occurred.
She said that the doctor kissed her niece on the eyes, but when he encountered her immediate reaction, he tried to minimize the situation by asking her not to make a big deal out of it as it would cost him his job.
"The maid told me that my stomach and abdomen hurt. I took her to get tests done and she told me to wait here. The girl's stomach hurt and she couldn't stand it. The tests came back negative and the doctor told me that she had appendicitis. He told me that he had to give me a medicine that was not available, but he had it and would do it for our honor. The mother said to turn her head because it was hard for the girl. And he approached the girl. A nurse who brought the food told me which doctor the girl was seeing, and when I told her the name she said: He's not good. The girl told me: Mother, I'm scared.
"That dog was teasing me, my granddaughter, he went and grabbed her, hugged her and kissed her. I was there myself. When I "threw myself in her face," she told me not to make a big deal about it or they would fire me," he said.
