Dramatic moments were experienced in the air this Friday morning by passengers of a Ryanair flight from Thessaloniki's "Macedonia" airport to Munich as a window broke and the air sucked in a passenger, who was saved at the last moment thanks to the help of his wife who was sitting next to him.

The news was first reported by a passenger's complaint on rthess.gr who described that during the flight a loud noise was heard and a window of the plane was broken.

According to the complaint, the cabin was depressurized and other passengers were carrying a 61-year-old Serbian man who was sitting next to the broken window and was being pulled by the wind as the masks fell off.

It is learned that the pilot changed course and returned the plane to Macedonia Airport.

According to Information, the foreign passenger who was sitting near the broken window was taken by the EKAB ambulance and taken to the “AHEPA” hospital with a neck injury. Information indicates that a pregnant woman was also taken from the same flight to the Ippokrateio Hospital in Thessaloniki, where she underwent an ultrasound and was discharged from the hospital after nothing concerning was discovered.

POEDIN President Michalis Giannakos commented in a post on the incident involving the injury of the 61-year-old passenger on a flight from Macedonia Airport. As he explained, it was an almost complete tragedy as the man's body was lifted into the air and held by his wife.

Specifically, in his post, Michalis Giannakos describes: "A near-total tragedy on a plane flight. A window broke and a passenger's body was thrown into the air. His wife held him and he was taken to AHEPA.

A 61-year-old Serbian man is currently in AHEPA with friction burns he suffered during a plane flight to Munich. The plane's glass shattered, his body was thrown into the air, and his wife held him by the legs for five minutes to prevent him from leaving.

With the help of many passengers, they managed to pull him into the cabin.

The plane landed in Thessaloniki, possibly an emergency landing, and the injured passenger was taken to AHEPA. The 61-year-old is currently in shock, conscious and has friction burns.
