The Bank of Albania organizes the opening event of Money Week 2026.
Governor Gent Sejko has stated that financial education is a very important element for the population as it relates to its well-being.
He added that one of the challenges of modern times is the digitalization and modernization of the banking and payment system, while adding that Albanians are becoming accustomed to modern forms of card payments.
"Financial education, a very important element for the population as it has to do with its well-being. As studied by the World Bank, working with financial institutions, banks, formalization, affect the mitigation of social inequality and the increase of economic well-being. BoA, in cooperation with several institutions, organizes this week that consists of several concrete activities, in order to inform as much as possible about the advantages of financial education, which serves young people to receive the right information on how to deal with money and investments in the future. The innovation of the modern times we are living in is the digitalization and modernization of the banking and payment system, when we are doing an intensive work.
"There is an advancement and progress in financial transactions carried out via cards, so Albanians are increasingly becoming accustomed to modern forms of payment," he said.
