The investigations into the double murder in Finikounda continue at an intensified pace, as new elements are revealed about the motive, the roles of the suspects and the case. heritageFollowing the arrest of the 68-year-old victim's nephew and his businessman friend from Athens, authorities are also awaiting the arrest of a third person in Germany, who is suspected of transporting the 22-year-old who is now considered the real perpetrator of the murder. This person has been identified by police and is expected to be arrested once the international arrest warrant is executed.

Meanwhile, the issue of the victim's inheritance is opening a new chapter in the investigation. According to the law, his vast fortune, estimated at several million euros and including real estate and numerous plots of land, will pass to the 68-year-old's sister, despite the nephew claiming that he was by his uncle's side until the end. Even if he is found guilty of inciting the crime, this does not affect the legal line of inheritance.

The 33-year-old nephew, who initially presented himself as an eyewitness, was arrested after evidence collected from his mobile phones, computers and communications contradicted his initial statements. The investigator, despite objections from the suspected perpetrators who accused each other, gathered evidence that places the nephew in the role of the instigator of the attack, while he is also suspected of involvement in a previous assassination attempt on the same uncle in September.

According to police, the first phone call he made immediately after the murder – not to the authorities, but to the businessman who is now being held with him – was considered a key element that raised suspicions against him. In later statements, the 33-year-old has mentioned media pressure, rumors of “30 million euros”, the double robbery of his home and the complicated relationship with his uncle, whom he describes as a figure who had replaced his father.

While the two young men suspected of being the natural perpetrators of the murder remain in custody and the third accomplice is expected to be arrested by German authorities, the investigation into this crime that has shocked public opinion is still far from over. Investigative bodies emphasize that further developments are expected, while the Finikounda case remains full of enigmas and contradictions that require full clarification.
