The court session at the Lezha Court has concluded, where the defense presented its final conclusions for Portuguese citizen Ruben Saraiva, accused of the murder of businessman Ardjan Nikulaj in Shëngjin, in April 2023.
His lawyer, Kujtim Cakrani, stated that there is no evidence implicating his client in this incident. He added that Saraiva has been discriminated against throughout this period by the Prisons Directorate, a claim that he said was confirmed by the defendant himself during today's hearing.
According to the lawyer, his client has stated that he is being unjustly held in prison, emphasizing that the police and the prosecution know very well who the real perpetrators of the murder are.
The next hearing is scheduled for March 25, when the court's decision is expected to be announced.
