Azem Hajdari's son recalled stories from his father's personal life and his efforts to balance life between family and politics.
He recounted the sacrifices his father made to be an active part of turbulent political moments, while not forgetting to be present in the family.
"I remember with laughter the stories my uncle used to tell me, that my father, who at the same time had to be very academic, would take a bowl and pour cold water on his feet so that he wouldn't fall asleep at night and study. This was to balance his personal life with his academic one.
Azem was a very loving father, an athlete who sacrificed a lot, a politician who found time to come home and play with my brother as if he were a child and befriend him. He played so much that my mother would even lower the slot machine to get dark and stop.
"I thank you for being here today to keep his memory alive and to hold the same ideals for ourselves and our children," he said.
