A video released by the Kremlin on the occasion of Russian President Vladimir Putin's message for International Women's Day has caused reactions online, after an incorrect version of it was initially published.

In the video that was initially shared, Putin interrupts his speech while reading the message to women, saying he has to repeat part of it because his throat is dry.

"You know, let me say it again, because... my throat is a little itchy. Yes, it's a little itchy. I almost started coughing. I'm talking a lot today," the Russian president is heard saying in footage that circulated online.

After the video was released, Kremlin communications officials removed the footage and replaced it with the correct version of the message for International Women's Day. However, the first footage had already begun to circulate widely on social media. The event was widely commented on online, as the first video showed an unplanned moment during the recording of the Russian president's official message.
