NATO has condemned the recent violations of Polish and Romanian airspace by Russian drones and aircraft, following an extraordinary meeting of the North Atlantic Council held on Wednesday, August 12. The allies expressed full solidarity with Poland and Romania and stated that Russia bears responsibility for these violations, which they consider dangerous and unacceptable.

In the statement, NATO emphasizes that it will continue strengthening integrated air and missile defense along the Alliance's eastern flank, from the Baltic Sea to the Black Sea, reaffirming its readiness to face any threat.

The Allies also confirmed that the incidents will not affect their support for Ukraine. According to NATO, the security of Ukraine is directly linked to the security of the Alliance's member countries. NATO stressed that it remains united and determined to defend the territory of member countries, while tensions with Russia continue to rise on the Alliance's eastern flank.
