A spectacular evening in the NBA playoffs, where the New York Knicks and Minnesota Timberwolves provided excitement and important results in the race to the finals.
In the Eastern Conference, the Knicks confirmed their exceptional form by destroying the Philadelphia 76ers with a deep score of 144-114 and closing the series 4-0. The team from New York dominated from the first minutes, with a barrage of three-pointers that sealed the fate of the challenge in the first quarter. The 144 points scored constitute a new club record in the playoffs, while the 25 three-pointers scored equal the NBA historical record in the postseason.
The man of the match was Miles McBride, who scored 25 points and made 7 three-pointers, in the best performance of his playoff career. Jalen Brunson also provided important support with 22 points, as well as Josh Hart and Karl-Anthony Towns with 17 points each. For Philadelphia, Joel Embiid's 24 points and Tyrese Maxey's 17 were not enough.
Meanwhile in the West, the Minnesota Timberwolves evened the series with a 114-109 victory over the San Antonio Spurs. The game was high-stakes, especially after the episode early in the second quarter, when Victor Wembanyama was ejected for a flagrant foul after elbowing Naz Reid.
Despite the absence of the French star, the Spurs fought until the end thanks to the performances of De'Aaron Fox and Dylan Harper. However, in the decisive moments, Anthony Edwards shone. The Timberwolves leader scored 36 points, 16 of them in the final period alone, leading the team to victory and entering NBA history as the sixth player to surpass 300 points in the fourth quarter of the playoffs before the age of 25.
