Heat president Pat Riley called Thompson "one of the most iconic players to ever wear the jersey ," emphasizing that his experience and skills in both phases of the game will be an added value to the team.
Thompson, a five-time All-Star , has made NBA history with the Golden State Warriors, with whom he won four championships and played in six Finals between 2014 and 2022.
Despite the serious injuries he has suffered throughout his career, including a torn cruciate ligament in 2019 and an Achilles tendon in 2020, Thompson is now back for a new challenge.
