Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed he will meet today with White House special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, son-in-law and adviser to US President Donald Trump. According to the Kremlin, they are tasked with negotiating the terms of a deal aimed at ending Russia's war with Ukraine, which has entered its fourth year.

During a meeting of Russia's National Security Council, Putin said that he could also discuss with American representatives the possible use of reserved Russian financial resources for the reconstruction of war-torn areas.

"This possibility is being discussed with representatives of the US government," he was quoted as saying by Russian news agencies.

The Russian president also announced that the issue of using some of these funds will be discussed with the President of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, with whom he plans to hold a meeting today.
