Israeli soldiers will not abandon their positions in southern Lebanon even after the ceasefire regime comes into effect.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said this during an emergency meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
"US President Donald Trump is working in close coordination with Israel and Israel is cooperating with him. At the request of the US President, the ceasefire (between Israel and Lebanon) will begin at midnight. Our forces will remain at strategic points during the days of the ceasefire," he noted.
According to Ynet, the Israel Defense Forces will remain in positions deep inside Lebanon and take immediate action against new threats.
"If the Lebanese government does not take practical steps to eliminate Hezbollah within the next 10 days, Israel will immediately do so by force," the source told the Ynet portal.
