Former President Ilir Meta's lawyer, Kujtim Cakrani, stated in a press conference that the accusations against the former President are untrue.

Lawyer Cakrani listed a series of facts and arguments for which he said that details from the file are fabricated.

"They wanted to discredit President Meta for accusations and affairs that do not exist. Mr. Meta, based on the lady's annoyance and message, filed a criminal complaint against him, presenting it before the prosecutor of the time, Adriatik Llalla, and this case was dismissed due to the amnesty of the time. Meta's complaint consisted of malicious misuse of the phone call," he said.

This issue is a continuation of what happened on January 21, 2011, because they are the same characters, right, lawyers? And they are the same actors who, in the meantime, have wanted to penalize the president, Mr. Meta, and publicly discredit him for accusations that do not stand up and for corruption affairs that do not exist. So today we will present to you how this issue began with regard to the CEZ-DIA episode and why this is a poorly staged case by those who had an interest, and undoubtedly also by the Special Prosecution.

Since 2014, citizen Vojsava Ismailaj has been sending regular messages to the former Speaker of Parliament, Mr. Meta, requesting a meeting and harassing him, justifying that she wanted to clarify some problems. Meanwhile, her husband, Kastriot Ismailaj, was under criminal liability at the time and was undergoing legal proceedings for charges unrelated to Mr. Meta, but to his issue with the bills he had with CEZ.

In this sense, Mr. Meta, after realizing that Ms. Ismailaj was figuratively hindered by people who were blackmailing and psychologically intimidating her, and feeling annoyed by the provocative messages, filed a criminal complaint, presenting it before the Prosecutor General of the time, Mr. Adriatik Llalla. Subsequently, this case was dismissed due to the 2016 amnesty.

Mr. Meta's criminal report consisted of the misuse of telephone calls, which Ms. Ismailaj used continuously. So, the criminal report is registered between the years 2000 and 2016. After the investigations, and after Mr. Meta was questioned in his capacity as President of the Assembly, this criminal report was dismissed due to the amnesty of the time. The document bears the number one and the date of dismissal 18.1.2017.

Then, another document, very important and compromising, shows the intervention of the chairman of the Laws Committee in the Albanian Parliament, Mr. Spartak Braho. This document, with protocol number 30 20, dated 27.9.2015, was addressed to Mr. Saimir Tahiri, Minister of Internal Affairs at the time, for the information of Mr. Bujar Nishani, President of the Republic, and for the information of the chairman of the Assembly of the Republic of Albania, Mr. Meta, as well as the Embassy of the United States of America.

Its content states: In my capacity as the chairman of the National Security Committee, I would like to inform you that reliable sources confirm to me the existence of data on serious attempts to carry out a scenario aimed at causing chaos and political instability in the country, and whose main authors are MPs Tom Doshi and former MP Dritan Prifti, also under investigation.
