The Minister of Internal Affairs, Besfort Lamallari, and the Director General of the State Police, Skënder Hita, participated in the reburial ceremony of the Martyr of the Homeland, Novruz Cenalia, who was killed two years ago in Fier. In his speech before the family members and State Police officers, Minister Lamallari praised the officer's sacrifice and demanded that justice be served to the end of the criminal incident. The ceremony, the minister said, was not only an act of state, but a moment of humility before the sacrifice of a police officer who, according to him, saw the uniform as a mission in service of the citizens and the homeland.

"The State Police holds in its history and memory one more martyr. The name of Novruz Cenalia will remain forever among those men and women who did not see the uniform as a privilege, but as a mission in service of citizens and the homeland," declared Lamallari. He emphasized that the murder of the police officer was a blow not only to a law enforcement officer, but also to the authority of the state itself and faith in the law. According to the Minister of Internal Affairs, the sacrifice of Novruz Cenalia strengthens the determination of institutions to fight crime and guarantee public safety.

"But those who think they can scare the state by hitting a police officer are gravely mistaken. The loss of Novruz Cenalia is a great pain, but it does not weaken our mission; on the contrary, it makes our determination to fight crime and protect public order and safety even stronger," he said.

During the ceremony, Lamallari described the proclamation of "Martyr of the Homeland" for Novruz Cenalina as an act of moral and historical justice, underlining that Albania places him in the pantheon of men who gave their lives for the country.

Minister Lamallari also called for justice, demanding that the perpetrators of the crime receive the deserved punishment. “Criminal justice for Novruz is not only a legal obligation; it is a moral obligation to his sacrifice and to every police officer who faces danger every day to protect citizens. A state that honors its martyrs must guarantee that crime will never triumph over the law,” said Lamallari. At the end of the ceremony, the minister stated that the memory of Novruz Cenalia will remain unforgettable for the State Police and for all of Albania. “In this holy place, next to the martyrs of the nation, another worthy son of Albania rests today. A man who did not seek glory, but did his duty until his last breath,” he concluded.
