A golfer in Ohio, USA, experienced moments of terror after a lightning bolt struck his hand while he was filming his friends on a golf course.
Chris Schiavone was playing golf with friends at Pebble Creek Course near Cincinnati when a storm suddenly hit the area. As the friends were trying to get a golf cart stuck in the mud, Schiavone pulled out his phone to film them.
At that moment, a bolt of lightning struck near him and knocked him to the ground. Footage of the incident was recorded by his phone and later posted to social media, where it received more than two million views.
Schiavone said that after the impact, he temporarily lost sensation throughout his body and had problems with his hearing. He suffered minor injuries and is currently recovering.
Releasing the video, he said he felt "very lucky and blessed" to be alive after the incident.
Experts warn that golf courses and other large, open spaces are especially dangerous during storms. The US National Weather Service advises that people seek shelter immediately as soon as they hear thunder.
