The suspected perpetrator of an arson incident that occurred on July 6, 2026, in the place called "Qafa e Petës", in the village of Petë, Vlorë, has been identified and arrested.
Following intensive investigative actions carried out by specialists for the Investigation of Crimes of the Vlora Police Commissariat, it was possible to identify the suspected perpetrator, citizen AS, 52 years old, resident of the village of Mallkeq. He was arrested for the criminal offense of "Destruction of property by fire".
According to the police, the fire started by the 52-year-old burned an area of land with wild vegetation, as well as olive trees.
Meanwhile, citizens RS, 62 years old, and IS, 35 years old, residents of the village of Mallkeq, have been declared wanted. They are the brother and cousin of the 52-year-old arrested man, respectively.
According to the blue uniforms, while escorting AS, the two citizens opposed the police officers, obstructing their duties, and then left.
The procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Vlora, for further action.
