A person was arrested Monday after allegedly throwing an incendiary device near the 26 Federal Plaza building in New York City.
According to sources, the suspect was carrying anti-ICE material.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the motive for the incident and whether it is related to a broader threat to federal institutions. No further details have been released at this time on the identity of the detainee or whether anyone was injured in the incident.
The device is believed to consist of fireworks and a flammable liquid. It is not clear whether the device hit the building, a law enforcement source with knowledge of the incident said, but video shows law enforcement officers emerging from a thick cloud of smoke outside the building.

At least three people suffered minor injuries, according to the New York Fire Department. Two of them refused medical attention and another was transported to New York-Presbyterian Hospital.

The man accused of throwing the device also suffered minor, non-life-threatening injuries.
