Prime Minister Edi Rama commented on the recent Democratic Party protest at the launch of his podcast Flasim, making strong accusations against the opposition for violence and organizing dangerous acts during the protests.

Rama said that he had not commented on the opposition protests for a while, but said that he reacted after the escalation of violence two weeks ago to say, according to him, “something true.” He stated that in Europe there are different groups of protesters, from anarchists and extremists to hooligan fans, but added that according to him there is only one party that has violence as part of its political program, accusing the DP.

The Prime Minister accused the opposition of organizing attacks on institutions, destruction of property, and mobilization of groups he described as paramilitary. He claimed that dangerous weapons such as Molotov cocktails and homemade bombs were used during the protests, causing injuries to police officers.

"I had not commented on any opposition protest for a long time. Until two weeks ago, after a violent escalation, I made a comment to say something true. In Europe, there are anarchist protesters, extremists, students, etc., hooligan fans, all kinds of groups, arming themselves, burning, injuring police officers, but since the time of the parties of 100 years ago in Germany and Italy, the infamous ones, which preceded the unspeakably dark era of fascism and Nazism, there has been only one party in Europe that has in its program the exercise of violence, the destruction of property, the attack on institutional buildings, even on its own building, the mobilization of paramilitaries who until yesterday were the spiritual leader's squad, while today they are mercenaries recruited with money from neighborhood thugs who come out in masks and wait for the signal to finish the job they were paid to do by throwing Molotov cocktails without being identified by cameras. The mercenaries appeared again and did more damage, moving on to throwing homemade bombs prepared by the leadership of the so-called Democratic Party and injuring even more police officers to the point of causing burn wounds. The misguided old man organizes them and then rubs his hands when the images of his outbursts appear in foreign media, probably what is happening in Albania, but it is an unstoppable degeneration. The result is the further shrinkage of a party, a force I don't know what to call it, a political order that has no mission, but has a function, to discharge the old man's cronies. Oh my god, black spot", he said.
