Christ is Risen! With the saying that accompanies the Easter holiday, Orthodox believers welcomed the Resurrection of Christ at midnight, in the holy liturgy led by the Archbishop of Tirana, Durrës and all Albania, His Beatitude Joan.

In his message to the believers who filled the square in front of the "Resurrection of Christ" cathedral in Tirana, Archbishop Joan focused on the hotbeds of war in the world, emphasizing that in the midst of this storm, the Risen Christ repeats: "Peace be with you."

Believers lit candles from the holy flame in the church, because only through the illumination of hearts can they achieve peace and goodness in Christ.

Orthodox Easter celebrations are held throughout Holy Week, with believers painting eggs with red paint on Thursday, a symbol of the renewal of life and its triumph over death. On Thursday, believers also buy a clay pot, a symbol of man's union with God.

The following day, Orthodox believers across the country celebrated Black Friday, a day commemorating the death of Christ on the cross. Friday is accompanied by the removal of the epitaph from the church and the holding of a procession through the main squares of the cities.

On Saturday, believers attended the midnight mass, which culminated with the Resurrection of Christ, while on Sunday, a traditional family lunch is served.

Easter is the most important date in the Christian calendar, a holiday that symbolizes the revival of nature and life.
