The head of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, Taulant Balla, took the floor at the first session of the new parliamentary session, presenting the socialist group's approach for this mandate. Balla said that the SP parliamentary group will start this session with the platforms "Besa" and "Prani Besnike", emphasizing that "besa is not a word, but a commitment". Balla's speech comes at the start of the new parliamentary session, while outside the Parliament premises, citizen protests against the government and the political class continue.
According to Balla, at this stage of the fourth mandate, citizens no longer expect MPs to tell them what to do, but demand that their representatives be present and listen to them.
"In these turning points of this fourth mandate, the citizen does not ask us to tell him what to do," said Balla. He also announced that every Friday, at 17:00 PM, citizens will have the opportunity to meet with the SP parliamentary group to express their concerns and demands.
"It will be an ongoing function of the Socialist Party. Not to receive promises or ask for favors, but to sit down and talk to people," said the leader of the socialist parliamentary group.
Balla emphasized that MPs must be clear about their institutional role, underlining that “a party does not make a state and an MP does not mediate favors.” He invited the opposition to cooperate on the issue of EU integration.
