Prime Minister Edi Rama is holding a meeting today with pensioners of unit no. 2. He said that so far, pensions have been indexed, but not increased.

Starting in January, Rama said that the pension increased, adding that the increase will continue to double and triple every January.

"The only thing we have done for years was the indexation of pensions. But indexation is not an increase in the true sense of the word. What I have said, I have repeated in all cases, is that the truth prevented us from going to pensions, since the economy was not able to support us, a real growth plan. When the economy created conditions for us, your pension increased from January. For every January, there will be an increase. For January of the next year, there will be an increase in this increase. To reach the amount that gives us the opportunity to achieve the objectives that we have announced for you. We have also discussed support for the disabled, who have the right to be treated equally. The truth is that in any case, someone who has lost the ability to work due to work cannot be left behind if they have lost their job due to disabilities. You know politics better, so vote for this government. We are in conditions where even sustainable economic growth helps us address many issues that could not be addressed before. Today we are at 12 million tourist visitors with foreign passports, from the 2 million we received at the beginning. We have had 300-400 million euros of foreign investments, today we are at over 1.5 billion. Since you know politics better than 99% of the members of parliament, I tell you that we have had a difficult path also for a reason that is ever more present.

Things that happen outside of our control are not decided by us, but we have to face them, from the pandemic, the earthquake, the war in Ukraine and now the war in the Middle East, which comes here to the price of oil. We hope that the ceasefire will lead to a final solution before the symptoms of the price of oil appear in food prices. The first thing we will think about is you, the others will come after. And together with you, the families in need who are on the government's economic protection, for whom we are preparing a new scheme based on a basket-based spending card. We will give cards for basic items, not for pubs," he said.
