Former Democratic Party MP, Fatbardh Kadilli, has commented on the situation within the DP and the race for party chairman, where Sali Berisha remains the only candidate after the rejection of other candidates.
Invited to the lunch program at News24, Kadilli stated that the Democratic Party is going through a deep crisis with itself and that today there can be no talk of a genuine political process within it.
"Today there can be no political process in the DP when Mr. Berisha is at stake. Not because of his current political capacities, but because the DP has gathered around him," said Kadilli.
He stressed that there is no longer room in the party for different opinions or political profiles, while adding that the majority of members are politically affiliated with Berisha. “They are there for Berisha and from Berisha,” he declared.
Kadilli also criticized the prevention of other candidates from entering the race, emphasizing that no one within the DP has really endangered Berisha.
He compared the situation in the party to a "royal court," adding that "whoever dares to compete with the king is treated like the king's clown."
