The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, declared that the opposition's main task is to shorten the mandate of Prime Minister Edi Rama's government, describing this as the only solution to the political crisis in the country. During a statement from the parliamentary group meeting, Berisha said that in Albania it has never happened before to refuse to lift the immunity of ministers, citing as an example the period 2009–2012, when according to him, two ministers and a deputy prime minister had their immunity lifted without debate.

"Only in the period 2009-2012, two ministers and the Deputy Prime Minister were stripped of their immunity. They surrendered it themselves, without any discussion or comment. In fact, with the Deputy Prime Minister, the government could have fallen if he wanted to, but he resigned and said he would appear before the prosecution," Berisha said.

According to him, Prime Minister Rama has set a dangerous standard by acting as if he and his ministers are above the law. Berisha also accused the government of obstructing justice and weakening the rule of law. "He multiplies justice by zero, locks it and closes it, at a time when there is no Albanian citizen who approves such an act. There is no citizen who accepts that the chief executive closes the door to justice when officials steal from citizens," he said.

The opposition leader added that international partners have also demanded the implementation of the rule of law and the Constitution. In this situation, according to Berisha, the opposition is the decisive factor for resolving the political crisis in the country. "Once again, we must remind every Albanian that the lifting of ministers' immunity has never been refused.
Only in the period 2009-2012 were the immunity of two ministers and the deputy prime minister lifted. They submitted it themselves, there was no discussion or comment.
And for the sake of truth, with the deputy prime minister, the government could fall if he wanted to. But no, he resigned and said, "I'll go to the prosecutor, I'll show up."
So he has set an extraordinary standard for the citizens and for the country in which he openly says that he and his ministers are above the law.
In which he openly multiplies justice by zero like never before, locks it up, and does this at a time when there is no Albanian citizen who approves of such an act.
There is no Albanian citizen who accepts that the chief executive closes down justice when officials steal from citizens.
There is no international partner that has not intervened and demanded that the rule of law and the constitution be implemented.
In this context, the opposition and only the opposition is decisive in resolving this crisis.
And this crisis will only be resolved with the departure of Edi Rama.
This crisis can only be resolved with the peaceful uprising of Albanians.
"Shortening the life of Edi Rama's government is the greatest imperative of the time. The greatest obligation of the opposition," he said.
