Democratic Party MP, Jozefina Topalli, has delivered a speech in the Parliament, where she accused the government of corruption, poverty and lack of European standards in the country. Addressing the Minister of Justice, Toni Gogu, whom she referred to as "the pastor", Topalli stated that the economic stability that the majority speaks of does not reflect the social reality of Albanian citizens.

Topalli emphasized that the Democratic Party was the political force that, according to her, linked Albania's destiny with the West, the European Union and NATO. According to her, European integration should not be seen as a political slogan, but as a process of profound transformation of the Albanian state and society. She added that Europe is not just a political destination, but a standard of justice, freedom and equality before the law.

Following her speech, Topalli also spoke about the social situation in the country, emphasizing that Albania is experiencing a deep moral and economic crisis.

"Do you know why the pastor talks about capital and economic stabilization? Because poverty is quiet and makes no noise. And the pastor does this masterfully. I cannot help but say that the DP has been the main promoter of the country's integration into EU institutions. It was the DP that made the connection of fate with the West, with the EU and with NATO of this country. Integration into the EU is not a slogan, but a profound transformation of society and the state. No one can build a European democracy when the country is swimming in corruption. Money laundering is done with a wink from the government. Europe is never a democratic destination, but a standard of justice and freedom before the law. Our Albania today is experiencing a deep social and moral drama, Mr. Pastor. Most people live with insecurity. Extreme luxury and extreme poverty live parallel to each other," she said.
