Czech MEP Tomáš Zdechovský has reacted sharply to the statement of the Serbian Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Snezhana Paunović, calling it unacceptable and demanding consequences for Serbia's European integration process.

Zdechovský said he was shocked by what he heard from the Serbian minister, stressing that her rhetoric is incompatible with the values ​​on which the European Union is built.

"I was completely shocked by what I heard from the Serbian minister. It was not just a shock, but something completely unacceptable. If this woman is really a minister, we should remove Serbia from the negotiations," the Czech MEP declared.

He compared Paunović's statement to the relativization of Nazi crimes after World War II.

"It's like someone, after visiting Auschwitz after World War II, saying that Hitler was the best solution to the Jewish question. This is completely unacceptable," Zdechovský said.

According to him, the European Union must send a clear message that no one who uses such rhetoric can become part of the European bloc.

"We need to send a clear message: no one with this kind of rhetoric will join the European Union," he stressed.

Zdechovský's statements come after numerous international reactions to Serbian Minister Snezhana Paunovic, who has been widely criticized for her statements regarding Kosovo, which have been described as nationalistic and inflammatory.
