"We will not leave this square without this corrupt government and this criminal class leaving," declared one of the protesters on the 78th day of the rally in front of the Prime Minister's Office.
He said that during these 78 days, protesters have demonstrated resilience and a "fighting spirit," emphasizing that the protest has united across political beliefs and regions.
"It is extraordinary how for 78 days this boulevard has had an extraordinary energy. We have shown that we are together above every political ideology and province we come from. We will be together because the goal is bigger than us, it is Albania itself," he said.
According to him, the protesters will not retreat despite efforts to disperse the protest.
"The people closest to the prime minister have promised to disperse the protest before September, but we will not disperse without removing you," said the protester.
He called for continued resistance in the square, emphasizing that Albania must be above any individual or political interest.
"This boulevard is bigger than any of us. We will make the Albania that this class did not make. Albania belongs to the 99.9% of Albanians who have come to protest, because we have understood the historical mission," he declared.
In the end, he demanded that the protest maintain its non-partisan character, saying that no political parties or organizations should be promoted in the square.
"It is enough that the one who comes and speaks does not have functions, does not have to be a municipal councilor and MP. Political parties and organizations should not be promoted, because everyone has their own beliefs. If we articulate them, we will forget the purpose and will deal with each other," he concluded.
