Initially, Perez dismissed the rumors that he was ill, confirmed that his health is perfect and that he has no intention of leaving the club's management, but announced that new elections will be held and that anyone who wants to challenge is open. His strongest accusation was again in relation to the refereeing issue, what is known in Spain as the Negreiera affair:

"I would have won more in La Liga, but that didn't happen after they kicked us out. UEFA must also intervene for this, to which we will send the full file. I'm not here for referees to get rich with Barcelona's money. We will go to the end of this matter, the most corrupt in the history of football.", said Perez.
