The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, in an official statement reacted to yesterday's statement by the State Police that people who leave negative "reviews" for businesses that they consider to be against the protest will be investigated.

Berisha says this comes because Prime Minister Rama is terrified and therefore has ordered the policing of citizens.

Berisha also stated that the DP condemns this campaign as it violates freedom of speech, thought and expression. The DP has also requested the establishment of an investigative commission.

Terrified by the hurricane of youth and civic protest, stigmatized at home and abroad, Edi Rama recently ordered his drug police and intelligence service to police the digital activity and social networks of protesters, in fact, of all citizens.
This time, this is not just being done for their attacks on Edi Rama, for which he has sworn like a primitive avenger that "those who come after me will have me behind them," but also for negative impressions and comments towards businesses close to the government.
The Democratic Party considers the right of every citizen to express their impression of any private or public service they receive to be inviolable and, in this context, there can be no restrictions for the client who has received the service.
Similarly, the DP considers the right of every citizen to express their thoughts and opinions on social networks about anything and anyone to be inviolable.
Of course, the Democratic Party never agrees with false impressions from fake accounts for services that were never received, which aim to harm fair competition. However, the Democratic Party expresses its most serious doubts that these false negative impressions are acts organized by the patronage of their government in order to serve its dark repressive censorship purposes.
The fact that this problem arises precisely at the height of youth and civic protest clearly shows that:
1. This campaign supposedly against false negative impressions is organized by drug institutions and patronage groups to attack protest exponents and participants;
2. Under the pretext of identifying the authors of these negative impressions, a reason is sought to be found to establish a complete, digital and massive policing of citizens' online activity;
3. Edi Rama's main goal is to control citizens' comments against him and his government;
4. With digital policing, the ground is being prepared so that, as it did with TikTok and following the example of the Ayatollahs, thousands of accounts and, if possible, entire social networks can be blocked.
Therefore, the Democratic Party condemns with the greatest force, as a serious attack on free speech, thought and expression, Edi Rama's decision to control and police citizens' social networks, as well as their statuses and comments on these networks.
The Democratic Party will request a parliamentary investigative commission into this unconstitutional activity of the narco-institutions of Edi Rama's regime.
