On Tuesday, the English Football Association also announced the awards for the best players for the past 2025-2026 season. Nico O'Reilly has been named the Young Player of the Season at the PFA Awards , after an extraordinary season with Manchester City and the English national team.
The 21-year-old, who is enjoying his first full season at the top level, also earned his England debut and was named in Thomas Tuchel's squad for the 2026 World Cup. O'Reilly was also named in the Premier League's Team of the Season , alongside compatriot Declan Rice.
Rice was among the candidates for the PFA Player of the Year award , but the trophy went to Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes . The Portuguese was a true leader for the Devils, contributing with 9 goals and a whopping 21 assists.
In the race for the young player award, O'Reilly left behind other promising names such as Kobbie Mainoo, Rio Ngumoha and Max Dowman, confirming an exceptional season for the young Englishman.
Other big names from Manchester City such as Erling Haaland, Cherki and Semenyo could not be missing, while the Arsenal champions are represented in the best formation by goalkeepers Raya, Rice and defenders Gabriel, Timber and Saliba.
