The provision of Albanian passports to young talents who want to wear the red and black jersey seems to be encountering difficulties and has recently created a long-distance clash between the Albanian Football Association and the institution of the Presidency. This is clearly seen from a post on social networks by Tefik Osmani, who in his role as head of scouting at the Albanian Football Association, has publicly addressed President Bajram Begaj, asking him why the procedures are accelerated for Kosovo players, as in the case of Albion Rrahmani, but not for Albanian talents.

TEFIK OSMAN'S POST

Mr. President of the Republic,

I am addressing you publicly, not for a favor, but for an answer that is directly related to the future of Albanian football.

The AFF has submitted documentation for about 10 boys and girls with great potential, who can represent Albania in the national age teams. The answer we get is that the law has changed and we have to wait for the Council of Ministers' Decision.

I want to be very clear: we as the Albanian Football Association are completely in favor of players originating from Kosovo being provided with Albanian passports. We have even worked and made an agreement with Italy precisely so that Albanian players are not considered extra-community.

But precisely for this reason, a strong question arises:

How is it possible that the procedures for a player of the Kosovo National Team, like Albion Rrahmani, can proceed and be completed, while the documentation of the players that the AFF is trying to bring closer to the Albanian National Team is always pending?

We have nothing against Rrahman or the Kosovo players. On the contrary, this is an issue that we support. But we demand that the same seriousness, the same speed and the same attention be paid to the talents who can wear the red and black jersey.

Because here we are not talking about documents that can wait indefinitely. We are talking about children and young people who have an age, a national cycle, and a certain moment in their development.

If the state can find a solution when it comes to a player representing Kosovo, why can't a solution be found with the same urgency for players waiting to represent Albania?

Because in the end, we risk something much bigger than a delayed dossier: we risk losing talents that Albania has found, pursued, and desires.

And it would be paradoxical if we lost talent not on the football field, but while waiting for an administrative procedure.
