The President of the Albanian Football Federation, Armand Duka, participated in the event organized by FIFA at Trump Tower in New York, a special activity held on the eve of the 2026 FIFA World Cup final, to celebrate the success of the greatest edition in the history of this competition.
Present at this event were FIFA President Gianni Infantino, United States President Donald Trump, members of the FIFA Council, heads of national federations from around the world, as well as international football legends.
During the event, President Duka had the opportunity to meet and talk with US President Donald Trump, as well as with senior FIFA leaders and representatives of various federations, in an evening that focused on the success of the organization of the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the global impact of football.
In his speech, FIFA President Gianni Infantino described this edition as an extraordinary success.
"This World Cup has exceeded all expectations. It is not only the greatest World Cup of all time, but also the greatest human, social and cultural event that humanity has ever seen," Infantino said.
United States President Donald Trump also praised the tournament as an unprecedented event in the history of sports.
"This has been a tournament like no other, with extraordinary competition and unforgettable moments that have brought the world together. It is the most successful sporting event in history," declared President Trump.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup has set new records for global attendance and viewership. Over 6.6 million fans attended matches in stadiums, making it the most-watched World Cup in history, with stadiums recording an average capacity of 99.7%. The tournament was hosted for the first time by three host nations – the United States, Canada and Mexico – and featured a new 48-team format, marking another historic moment for world football.
President Duka's participation in this activity confirms the active engagement of the Albanian Football Federation in international football structures and the close relations with FIFA and partner federations, at a time when Albania is increasingly strengthening its profile as an organizer of important international sporting events.
