Prime Minister Edi Rama reacted this Sunday, September 6, regarding the issue of salaries of magistrates and the judiciary.

In a post on social media, Rama commented on the debate on the implementation of the Constitutional Court's decision on the salaries of the justice system. He emphasized that each institution must act within its competence.

According to the Prime Minister, the salary fund of the judiciary is proposed by the executive branch and approved by the legislative branch. Rama said that the Constitutional Court itself is awaiting Parliament to execute its decision.

"Any other comment is at best a waste of time," the prime minister said in his reaction.

" Each institution in its own place. The judicial salary fund is proposed to the executive branch and approved by the legislative branch. And when the Constitutional Court itself expects the parliament to execute its decision on judicial salaries and does not dare to open the door to the state treasury itself, any other comment is at best a waste of time and at worst, don't even ask what it is," Rama writes.

Magistrates have complained that August salaries have not yet been paid, even though the Constitutional Court ruled in their favor, following the decisions of the Supreme Court of Justice and the Supreme Administrative Court.

Justice Minister Toni Gogu himself promised a day ago that the impasse would be resolved, saying that every decision of the Constitutional Court must be implemented.
