The Minister of Justice, Besfort Lamallari, has reacted after the operation of the Internal Control Service in the Prison System at the Elbasan Penitentiary Institution, where three people were arrested for bringing narcotics into the prison. Lamallari writes that the Internal Control Service will intensify controls in all prison institutions in the country.

"Security in prisons is a red line. Whoever crosses it gets only one answer: facing justice," Lamallari writes, among other things.

"I commend the operation of the Internal Control Service in the Prison System at the Elbasan Penitentiary for cracking down on a criminal mechanism for introducing drugs into the prison and bringing three suspects to justice. As I emphasized in the last meeting with the leaders of this service and the leaders of the Penitentiary Institutions throughout the country, any attempt to violate security in prison institutions will receive the deserved response with the full force of the law. Controls by the Internal Control Service will be intensified, verifications will be continuous and the strikes will be without tolerance for any violation of the law. Any employee who betrays their duty and becomes part of criminal schemes will end up before justice. Security in prisons is a red line. Whoever crosses it, receives only one response: facing justice," the Minister of Justice writes.
