The DP has denounced the lack of digital public services. In a reaction to the media, the anti-corruption spokesperson for the DP, Genta Vangjeli, emphasizes that the Municipality of Tirana has opened the procedures for soft loans, but on the other hand e-Albania is not working.

The statement of the spokeswoman for Anticorruption in DP, Genta Vangjeli:

The Democratic Party denounces another failure of digital public services, which is denying citizens a fundamental right: access to social housing programs.

According to the official announcement, applications for the first phase of benefiting from social housing programs must be made from April 20 to May 19, 2026, exclusively through the e-Albania portal.

But in reality, the system doesn't work.

Dozens of complaints indicate that the application is impossible due to problems in communication with the National Civil Status Registry.

The portal itself has publicly acknowledged system outages and maintenance, but what is happening is neither a 'temporary outage' nor a 'slowdown.' It is a complete collapse of the service.

The inability to access digital services is bringing concrete consequences: blocking of applications, delays in registrations, inability to fulfill legal obligations, and loss of rights guaranteed by law.

Any interruption, even temporary, creates uncertainty, costs, and penalties for citizens who depend on these systems.

Meanwhile, millions of euros from Albanian taxes have been spent on these systems that do not function today.

In the last three years alone, over 8.5 million euros have been allocated for 'maintenance and improvement' of the civil registry system. The result is clear and shameful: funds have been spent while the system does not work.

This reality raises questions about the management of public funds and institutional accountability.

It is no coincidence that SPAK has seized over 40 million euros as part of the Akshi case investigation.

The conclusion is simple and alarming: citizens are being left without services, while public funds are being wasted.

As long as Edi Rama remains at the head of the government, Albanians will continue to face failing services and promises that remain nothing more than propaganda.

The Democratic Party demands:

Immediate commissioning of the application system;

Guaranteeing full access for every citizen seeking to benefit from social housing programs;

Full transparency on funds spent and responsibility for system failure.

Social programs are an obligation to citizens and must function without excuses.

Citizens deserve services that work, not promises that fail.
