Minister of Foreign Affairs, Elisa Spiropali, has stated that by November 17, 2025, 5 new negotiation chapters will be opened, relating to Agriculture, Cohesion and Resources.
Spiropali states that Albania has entered a historic phase and that this marks a moment of pride for all citizens at home and abroad. "This is what reforms, unwavering political will, dedication and close cooperation with the institutions and member states of the European Union bring," emphasizes Minister Spiropali.
"Promises only have meaning when they are kept. We had promised to open all negotiation chapters by 2025. Few believed it. But today, what seemed an impossible commitment has become a reality.
On November 17, 2025, Albania will open negotiations on the 5 chapters included in Cluster 5 – “Agriculture, Cohesion and Resources”. A historic phase for Albania, a milestone in the European Union accession process and a moment of pride for every Albanian, at home and abroad.
"This is what reforms, unwavering political will, dedication and close cooperation with the institutions and member states of the European Union bring," said Spiropali.
