Former Democratic Party MP Ervin Salianji has reacted to the clash between police and citizens who were protesting over their properties affected by the TID project. Through a post on social media, Salianji considers police brutality and violence as signs of panic from a degraded regime, emphasizing that a normal government dialogues and solves problems, not violates citizens.

The former MP calls for the immediate release of Artion Bajramaj, Orest Berberi, Isuf Idrizi and Elton Doka, who were detained during the protest. Further in his reaction, Salianji describes the attack on citizens demanding their fundamental right to property as the end point of a regime gripped by corruption and abuse of power.

REACTION
Police brutality and violence are signs of panic, not strength.
They are the latest reaction of a degraded regime that has lost legitimacy.
A normal government listens to citizens. A democratic government dialogues.
A responsible government solves problems.
Only a government gripped by corruption chooses to commit violence.
Today, citizens in Durrës are not seeking privileges.
They are demanding a fundamental right: their property.
But what are the government and the municipality doing?
He robs them at ridiculous prices.
It expropriates them by pressure.
He threatens them with the police.
This is not governance.
This is extortion in uniform.
Albania does not need police against its citizens.
They need a state at their service.
Because when power begins to take away property, dignity, and freedom, it is no longer a democracy, it is a regime, and any regime that violates its citizens is only a matter of time before it falls.
The police must immediately release Artion Bajramaj, Orest Berberi, Isuf Idrizi and Elton Doka, who were forcibly taken away, violating their right to protest!
