Activist Mirjan Aliaj took the floor at the 109th protest against the government and Prime Minister Edi Rama, calling for the removal of the head of government and the repeal of several laws approved by the majority.
Aliaj said that, despite the protest taking place on a day that he described as a day of pain, it should serve as a moment to increase determination.
The activist demanded the repeal of laws for strategic investors, the so-called "Mountain Package" and laws that, according to him, do not protect protected areas.
"Today, despite the fact that it is a day of pain, we must turn it into strength. We must understand that the laws that Rama lobbied for in 2015 to be approved in the Kosovo Assembly are the same as the laws that he approves in the Albanian Assembly. Rama must leave and the laws on strategic investors, the mountains package, the laws that do not protect protected areas must be repealed. Because these laws are going to sell Albania. We must be more determined and insist on Rama's resignation. Rama has expressed his desire to remain in history, and today I say with all my heart that Rama has entered the history of the Albanian nation and his name is side by side with Esat Pasha Toptani. Edi Rama is the Esat of today," he said.
