The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, declared that he is in favor of the protests of citizens and their different opinions, while demanding transparency on the Zvërnec issue. He also commented on the actions of the protesters yesterday, where they stopped at the DP headquarters, where they protested. Berisha said that he was in favor of implementing the project, but within the EU directives, if the conditions are met.
Among other things, he said that he cannot be part of a protest and unfairly take credit for it, as it would be abnormal.
"This is a busy time, where scandals roll over each other. Since he was found in the Balluku file, he has not stepped foot in the Assembly since the vote on Belinda's immunity. He should have been giving explanations to those tens of thousands of citizens, who unite in a common denominator for transparency. Transparency is an absolute obligation of citizens. He thinks that by hiding, by running away, as you saw, I also made a denunciation for the anti-rally in Vlora. This is a genuine Stalinist and dictatorial act. I urgently request its cancellation. The decorations of shame were distributed the day before yesterday. The DP will have its own answers for Rama's anti-rally in Vlora. Every protester has the right to say whatever they want, but of course from the protesters and opposition members of the opposition, the latter are servants of the government.
Every free citizen has the right to throw out the slogan they want. While the types dressed up as opposition of the opposition, they are the misery of politics. I will speak in the Assembly when it is my turn in a few hours. The difference is in this case, the difference that exists between night and day. If we defend the thesis that in accordance with the European directive, which I have full confidence that this directive meets environmental requirements, if the steps are taken in accordance with the European directive, I think they are the right steps. EU environmental directives are mandatory. Both for member countries, but also for those moving towards membership. If there is one thing here that is clear to every Albanian, it is absolutely zero transparency. When it is for me, imagine for the citizen. I had to do a lot of work to learn about the project. The difference is big, after building in accordance with ecological conditions, if these indicators allow development, then you can do it. The project must be developed in conditions of respect for the environment. We respect the right of every citizen to protest. But we are not the ones to take on another's protest, we never do that, there is a morality. Those who started it started it. We do not take responsibility for anyone, because this is immoral. If he goes and holds a protest in Vlora, then he will face us, because the red line will be crossed," he said.
