Russian President Vladimir Putin held a phone call with his Iranian counterpart, Masoud Pezeshkian, on Tuesday to discuss the ongoing conflict in the Middle East caused by the "Israeli-American attack against Iran," the Kremlin said in a statement.
Putin "reaffirmed his principled position in favor of a rapid de-escalation of the conflict and its resolution by political means," according to the Kremlin.
A day earlier, the Russian leader discussed the crisis in Iran with United States President Donald Trump in a phone call.
