Former Albanian ambassador to the UN, Agim Nesho, has commented on the 'Peace Board', a plan initiated by President Donald Trump, which was approved yesterday in Davos. Nesho told News24 that the absence of Prime Minister Edi Rama in Davos showed that he was unwanted at that event. Among other things, Nesho said that the excuses that Mr. Rama gave yesterday in the Assembly made him ridiculous.
"The opposition was right, you cannot ratify something when the executive authorities, such as the Prime Minister, have not signed the charter that constitutes the foundation that the Parliament would consider. It was a hasty action. It seems that the government and Mr. Rama were in a hurry to show that he was part of the Peace Board, but in fact the President of Kosovo, who represented our nation, participated there. The Prime Minister may have received an invitation, but he showed that he was undesirable at the main event that he would hold in establishing this organization. This was the reason for that nervousness from Rama. Rama's reasoning was ridiculous. He could do anything, he could even run away on foot and take a photo, in conditions of a crisis, where no government could survive. He was caught red-handed in activities of extraordinary proportions. It is at a moment when the Deputy Prime Minister is being investigated and Mr. Rama admits that they acted together. No one can compare the President of the United States with private members of his family. America It is not the Kingdom. Businessmen have their own businesses and receive income from their activities and that is where the discussion ends.
He focused on the US-Ukraine-Russia trilateral meeting, while saying that Europe is also interested in establishing peace between Kiev and Moscow.
"It is an attempt to calm the situation between Ukraine and Russia. We have an interested EU. It is a vital crisis for its fate, where it is known that Russia will not end its action to increase its influence. Ukraine is just the beginning of this scenario. The EU seeks and is part of these talks and in the pressure it puts on the US to participate in a joint action to establish peace. The issue of territorial integrity has also been mentioned by President Trump, since Ukraine will not allow the forcible taking of its territories. This issue will be resolved in time. But is it necessary for both sides to make concessions in order to reach a compromise? This is true. Ukraine is focusing on the armament that Europe will give it. The compromise will continue on what you said, Russia will accept that Donbass, which they want to take, is part of Russia," he said.
