Prime Minister Edi Rama expressed his confidence that nothing is blocking the Corridor VIII project. In a press conference held this Friday, he underlined that all steps are being prepared and that the details will be made public when everything is ready.
Rama added that 'those who thought they would subjugate the Republic of Albania, whether these are internal or external forces, will be left with their fingers in their mouths'.
"We want to become part of a house that owns great wealth. Our commercial and military port project is on the NATO table. It has passed all levels of controls. Could we make a military base that would be used by NATO in that basin of the current Port of Durres? No, we couldn't! Precisely because of the great seriousness of this project, we approached an approach with a serious company that can break all the pots. The competition was organized twice, and both times there was a lot of interest. Strong criteria do not mean that there is no company that does not meet them, but that you are not able to fully meet them. This time an unfortunate coincidence occurs due to the price crisis. We do not have any information that there was another component that influenced the company's withdrawal. I want to send a text message to those who influenced the blockage of Corridor VIII, and they will not be able to do it anymore. We will take the step that we have been unable to do so far. That's all for now! I will not say more than that we are preparing the next step, and the moment we are ready, we will take it. All those who have thought that they will subjugate the Republic of Albania, whether internal or external forces, will be left with whatever they want, in their mouths," he said.
