Thousands of citizens gathered this Sunday in front of the Prime Minister's Office in Tirana, on the 15th day of anti-government protests, demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama and changes in the country's political direction.
During the rally, one of the voices that attracted attention was that of an elderly woman from Durrës, who said that her apartment is affected by the TID project in the coastal city and that, according to her, she risks losing her home.
She addressed the protesters in emotional tones, expressing support for the youth and participants in the protest.
"Oh, how beautiful you are! Oh, mother's hearts... Albanians are the most beautiful race in the world. I am glad that the youth are here today," she said, thanking the participants for their support.
She further said that she has been facing concerns about her apartment for months and accused that, according to her, decisions have been made to evict her from her home. The elderly woman also said that she will not give up despite the difficulties, calling for the continuation of the protest and the participation of citizens.
"Oh how beautiful you are! Oh mother's hearts. Oh stars, Albanians are the most beautiful race in the world. I am glad that the youth is here today. I follow you. When I have the chance, I will come here. I am from Durrës and this bastard will take my house. I have a mother who has been screaming for 10 months and I am not afraid. I love you very much. I have a lot to say, I did not receive a letter. They come from my heart, they come from my soul.
I fought for 1 life, raised 3 wonderful children and today at this age instead of calming down, this bastard worries me. This bastard together with Belinda Balluku have signed to kick us out. I have told him I have made the house more blood and I will not give it to him. I appeal to the youth here every day. I have 120 thousand lek pension. I have the last days of my life, but I will not give up. Rama in prison, Berisha in prison. The sooner they disappear, the better they will blacken our lives. This beautiful country blessed with these cursed people. Long live the new Albania, long live the youth", she said.
