A protester, who participated in the anti-government rally, has made strong accusations against Prime Minister Edi Rama, accusing him of politically protecting former Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku.
According to him, Rama has not allowed Balluku to face prison, as he claims that the prime minister is an accomplice to her in the actions for which she is accused.
"He protects crime in Parliament. He protects Balluk, he doesn't send him to prison, but he sends people to prison for double parking. He didn't let Balluk go to prison because Edi goes with him, he's an accomplice," the protester declared.
He also harshly criticized the way the country is governed, claiming that institutions are under political control and that citizens are facing economic difficulties.
"I've been living in England for 25 years. I haven't had a vacation yet. I came to protest with my family. Albania has ended. People don't have money, they have millions," he said.
The protester said that if the prime minister really cared about the plight of the citizens, he would come out to them, apologize, and resign.
"He doesn't care about the people at all, but about his own seat. He doesn't care about the people, because otherwise he would come out, apologize and resign. He got those votes by stealing. He has no contract with the people," he said.
The statements were made during the protest that has been going on for 74 days, with citizens demanding political changes and expressing opposition to the Rama government.
