Prime Minister Edi Rama attacked the protesters from Thethi who have been gathering every day for 52 days on the boulevard in front of the Prime Minister's Office, demanding his resignation and the removal of the old political caste.

During a meeting with residents of the area, the head of government accused the protesters of opposing foreign investment and described them as "charlatans", "delirious" and "extremists".

Responding to residents' questions about the Mountain Package and government interventions against unauthorized construction in Theth, Rama argued that economic development comes through investments and took as an example the project for the construction of the Dukagjin road, which according to him will serve the development of tourism and the area.

"Where do the funds come from? The funds come from investments. Even the most democratic countries compete to bring in more foreign investments. In Albania, all kinds of charlatans, delusional people and extremists emerge and say we don't want foreign investments, we don't want foreigners in Albania. Who are we selling Albania to?" Rama said, also mentioning Qatar's investments as an example.

The Prime Minister said that the government will begin construction of the Dukagjini road, while recalling that the area once suffered from a lack of infrastructure, electricity and water.

At the same meeting, Rama also explained the Mountain Package, emphasizing that it is not a scheme in favor of oligarchs, but aims to provide solutions to property issues for heirs in mountainous areas.

He also denied that he had promised to legalize new unauthorized constructions during his previous visit to Theth, emphasizing that the government will only legalize existing constructions that meet legal criteria.

"I did not say continue building because we will legalize them. I only spoke about existing constructions. After my visit, a wave of illegal constructions broke out, the heart of Theth was damaged and the lawn near the church was occupied by unauthorized constructions. We could not allow this," declared Rama.

The meeting in Theth took place in the presence of Ministers Ervin Demo and Enea Karakaçi, the Mayor of Shkodra, Benet Beci, as well as local officials.
